Evaluation question 3
What have you learnt from audience feedback?
Personally and from the feedback I have been given I think my film poster is my best media products because it has the best layout and a really strong image. My audience feedback stated that the main image really connoted drama and showed what genre it was through the image, I was very happy to here this as it was a main thing I was trying to achieve. Other feedback said that the color schemes for all of my products were very consistent and flowed. My film trailer was also critiqued, good things were that it included all conventions of a typical film trailer. That is something I was happy to here because I wanted it to look as realistic as possible. The editing was also noted as being very good as I used editing such as dissolve cuts to create a better cinematic experience for the viewer. More audience feedback said the main image on my film magazine could have been strong, I agree with this and in future productions I plan on taking more time to take better quality images in a photography studio.
Film trailer deconstruction 2
The genre of this film is comedy/drama. This genre is common with teen films as they are lighthearted and dismissive. You can establish the genre of the film throughout the trailer. It shows you all the conventions of teenage drama issues. The soundtrack for this film trailer is very upbeat which keeps in with the happy comedic tone of the film.
Film institution research
I have done some research into British film institutions and production companies. I have found a company called Independent. Independent specializes in the development, financing, production and distribution of independent feature films. Led by CEO Luc Roeg, who has over twenty years experience in the film business, Independent has a team of highly motivated and experienced professionals with expertise in project development, production, structured finance, distribution, sales and marketing.
Evaluation question 2
How effective is the combination
of your main product and ancillary texts?
I have answered and explored this question on a Powtoon digital program.
Evaluation question 1
In
what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
My media product develops the conventions of real media products, I know this because I have researched already existing media products to get an insight of what I needed to include such as the conventions, to make a realistic products. I have shown this through a Prezi presentation.

Film age rating
Every film has a age rating so I have researched the different ratings so that I know what to put on my film poster. I decided to rate my film a 15 and this means the film is only suitable for 15 years and over. I went on the BBFC website to learn about the age ratings. Im going to put the age rating logo on my film poster.
Film website - poster
I have added another convention to my film poster to make it more realistic. I have added a website link for the film on the poster as this makes the film more accessible and make the film look more credible. I have looked at already exhausting film posters and found that this is a convention that is often used.

Film poster - Film festival
My film is an independent british film, normally independent films get screened at a film festival before full release. Therefore I have created my own film festival that will feature on my film poster. I have used 'Sundance Film Festival' as the inspiration because it is a well known film festival that features independent films.

Front cover draft feedback
For my first draft of my front cover film magazine I have been given a grade and written feedback. The grade I have been given is a C. I know that I can greatly improve on this grade. The feedback that my teacher has given me to improve on is the position of the image. The font size for the sell lines and include more more text to fill in the places.

first draft poster feedback alterations
I have listened to the advise from my teacher and I have changed the font for the actors names so that it is better suited and looks better visually. I have changed the the release date to a later date so that it is more realistic. For the credit block I have replaced the paramount logo and lettering to my own. I have created my own production company called 'Mountain Hill Productions' and created my own logo and put it on the poster.
I have also included a review and rating, which makes my poster have more of a real look and also meets more conventions of a already exhisting film poster.
Poster draft feedback
For the first draft of my film poster I got given a grade and written feed back from my teacher. The grade I got given was a C, this grade is something that I can definitely improve on by altering and improving the poster from the critique that my teacher has gave me.
The areas my teacher has noted to work on are change the product company/logo that I have used in the credits. Review the font for the actors names. Review and change the release date and include some critic reviews. All of these things are something that I am very much able to act on to achieve the higher grade.

magazine fonts initial ideas
I have created an animoto slide show to show already existing magazine titles that I like so that I can see what sort of fonts are used on these popular magazines. The0 title I like the most from these magazine titles is the total film magazine because the font is bold and very eye-catching. These already existing titles will give me inspiration for my magazine.

poster development 3
On my film poster I have Put the logo of Sundance film festival. This features on a lot of already existing film posters primarily on more independent films as the film will be featured at this festival before it goes to official release. My film will have already been played at the Sundance film festival when the poster comes out so that's why the logo will be presented on it.
At the end of the billing box I have put the logo of paramount because in the billing box I have said that paramount have produced the film so this is essential to have, I know this from looking on already existing film posters.
This is my final poster development that I am giving to my teacher as my first draft to mark and give me improvements which I can do once I have it back.

poster flat plan
I have researched into already exhisting film posters to get ideas and insperation on how I want my film poster to look. I want the Film title to be the largest piece of text on the page and for it to possiblely go along the top of the page. I want the main image to be the focus of the poster and for it to cover the majprity of the page preferably in the middle or the whole of the page. I only want to include four actors names on the poster so that it doesnt look too conjested. The billing block will go along the bottom of the page along with the release date. I want to text to look very simple so that the poster doesnt look too busy.
Film trailer deconstruction 1
The genre of this film is a comedy/drama/romance. The genre can established and understood from the first few seconds of the film trailer due to setting and the emotion of the characters, the ups and downs of the characters emotions show how the film alternates from the drama to the comedy. The soundtrack along side this also really helps you establish the genre as it goes from slow paced to a fast paced rhythm. This film is more of a teen drama as you can see from the trailer that the majority of the characters are in there teens, knowing this helps you predict what the narrative could be. In my film trailer I want to the genre to be quite noticeable.
LOL has a generic narrative for a teen drama, teen girl is left broken hearted by her boyfriend but is then surprised to find out that her best friend has feelings for her. Most teen dramas have a narrative that focuses on this or something similar. For my trailer the narrative won't be as generic as this and I want it to be more unique. The target audience for this film is quite obvious as the majority of the casts age are 16/18 which suggest the audience will be for people around this age. The target audience for my film trailer are teenagers therefore the cast will also have to be teenagers.
The music in this trailer is quite slow which corresponds with the genre of the film. It matches well with the drama tone of the film trailer and the with the narrative. The rhythm and speed of the music gets faster when there is more action and drama going on in the trailer. For my film trailer I want a dramatic song playing.
At the start of the trailer there is a lot of slow motion shots, this immediately suggest the drama in the film. A lot of the shots in the film are close ups because the film focuses on emotion as one of its main conventions which can be seen through the trailer. Closeups help see the characters emotions and expressions which is something I want in my film trailer.
There is a lot of slow motion in the film trailer which is something I don't really want to focus on in my film trailer.

peer feedback on blog
As a class we have peer marked each others blogs to help us improve on them. This task is helpful as it gives you good critical feedback on your blog and also shows you what other blogs are like in the class so that you can add posts that you haven't included on your blog. On each of the feedback notes I was given two positive bits of feedback and one critical piece that I can improve on.
Positive feedback:
- Clear knowledge of genre
- Good reconstructions as they looked like original products
- Well planned and presented
- Good use of digital technology
Things to improve on:
- Overall design of my blog could be altered
- Research more into Institutions
Positive feedback:

Things to improve on:
- Overall design of my blog could be altered
- Research more into Institutions
I then gave myself personal feedback on my blog after looking through it I made some notes on other things that I need include and alter on my blog posts. When reviewing by blog I have decided That I need to post trailer deconstructions and research into film institutions. These notes and feedback will help me really improve on my blog to make it better and achieve higher marks.
